Gold and Silver Saver (“we,” “us,” or “the site”) operates the precious-metals price-comparison service at goldandsilversaver.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have to control it.

We do not require accounts and do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information beyond what your browser sends when you visit a webpage.

When you visit the site, we automatically receive standard request metadata:

• Identifiers: truncated/anonymized IP address, randomly generated visitor ID stored in a first-party cookie.
• Device and browser data: user agent, screen size, language, time zone, referring URL.
• Behavioral analytics: page views, search queries you type into our search bar, filter selections, and clicks on outbound dealer links.
• Affiliate attribution data: when you click an outbound “View Deal” link, our redirect (/go) logs the dealer, product, and click surface so we can reconcile commissions and catch broken links.
• Voluntary contact: if you email us, we keep your email address and message contents in order to reply.

We do not collect names, postal addresses, payment information, or precise geolocation. We do not run profile-based advertising.

• To serve and render the site (essential).
• To understand which products, dealers, and pages people engage with so we can improve the service (analytics).
• To reconcile affiliate commissions reported by dealers and FlexOffers/Impact against our own click logs.
• To detect and prevent abuse (e.g. scraping, fraud, spam).
• To respond to your messages and privacy requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

• Analytics events (PostHog): 12 months from the event date, then purged.
• Outbound deal-click logs: 24 months, retained for affiliate commission reconciliation, then purged.
• Server access logs (hosting provider): up to 30 days for security and operational debugging.
• Email correspondence: kept while the conversation is open and deleted on request.

We share limited data with the following providers, only as necessary to operate the site:

• PostHog — product analytics. IP addresses are anonymized at ingest. Cookies categorized as analytics.
• Google Analytics 4 (where enabled) — traffic measurement. IP anonymization applied.
• FlexOffers and Impact — affiliate networks that record outbound clicks for commission tracking when you click a “View Deal” link.
• Railway — hosting and infrastructure for our application and database.
• Vercel (where used) — frontend hosting and CDN.
• Cloudflare (where used) — DNS, bot protection, and CDN.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

We use a small number of cookies, grouped by category:

• Essential — needed for the site to function (theme preference, cookie-consent state). Always on.
• Analytics — PostHog visitor ID, GA4 measurement cookies. Set by default to help us improve the service; IP addresses are anonymized at ingest and no session recordings are captured. You can opt out from the cookie banner or via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer. We honor the Global Privacy Control (Sec-GPC / GPC) signal and treat it as an automatic opt-out from analytics cookies — when GPC is set, the banner does not appear and analytics never load.

• California residents (CCPA/CPRA): right to know, right to delete, right to correct, right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing,” right to non-discrimination. We do not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR): right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to object to processing.
• All visitors: right to opt out of analytics via our cookie banner or your browser's GPC setting.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To formally exercise a CCPA/CPRA opt-out, decline analytics in our cookie banner or send an email to contact@goldandsilversaver.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.” We will confirm receipt and update your preferences within 15 business days.

The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please email us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
